Broadway Sizzler Chicago at Montgomery Theater, San Jose Ca

Premiering in 1975 and the hit of the 1996 Broadway season Chicago won six Tony Awards including Best Revival and later the Academy Award as Best Picture of the Year. In roaring twenties Chicago, chorine Roxie Hart murders a faithless lover and convinces her hapless husband Amos to take the rap…until he finds out he’s been duped and turns on Roxie. Convicted and sent to death row, Roxie and another “Merry Murderess,” Velma Kelly, vie for the spotlight and the headlines, ultimately joining forces in search of the American Dream: fame, fortune and acquittal.

Known both for its choreography by the famed Bob Fosse and the 2002 movie, which won six Academy Awards, the show flaunts celebrity, scandal, and corruption in Jazz-age Chicago.

Chicago is directed and choreographed by Kevin R. Hauge, artistic director for the award-winning Children’s Musical Theater San Jose (CMTSJ). Marquee Productions bring adult performers together to perform in benefit for the CMTSJ youth theater programs
